THAT’S A WRAP ON ALTUS TRAFFIC’S 2025 EVENTS
As we close out another action-packed year, Altus Traffic is proud to reflect on the extraordinary events we helped deliver across Australia in 2025.
From international sporting championships and major cultural festivals to community carols and university open days, our specialised events division has been front and centre; keeping traffic flowing, pedestrians safe and communities moving.
With projects spanning metro CBDs, coastal highways, regional towns and everything in between, 2025 has once again proven why Altus Traffic is the go-to partner for event organisers nationwide. Let’s take a look at some of the events in the year that was.
MAJOR EVENTS
When Australia turns its eyes to a major event, Altus Traffic is ready behind the scenes.
We were honoured to manage traffic operations for multiple ANZAC Dawn Services nationwide, ensuring respectful and safe access for communities paying tribute.
International events like the Australian Open, Brisbane International, and the high-octane Australian F1 Grand Prix with over 400,000 spectators, required meticulous planning, multi-agency collaboration, and rapid-response adaptability.
The skies came alive at the Avalon Airshow, engines roared at the GC 500 Supercars, and cycling fans lined the streets for the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race—all supported by detailed traffic management strategies designed to handle massive crowds.
Iconic events such as QLD’S EKKA, Melbourne Fashion Week, and statewide Remembrance Day services saw our teams coordinating road networks to balance event needs with everyday commuter demands.
We were also privileged to assist with the State Funeral for Arthur Leggett in WA—an event delivered with the utmost respect and professionalism.
SPORTS EVENTS & FUNDRAISERS
If it involved running shoes, racquets, racing bikes, footballs or finish lines, chances are our crews were there before sunrise making it happen.
From the Santos Tour Down Under and UCI Gran Fondo World Championships to the electric atmosphere of the AFL Gather Round and the AFL Grand Final Parade, we helped manage some of the biggest sporting moments of the year. Our teams delivered seamless traffic solutions for major international events like the World Triathlon Championships Wollongong, Beach Volleyball World Championships Adelaide, and high-profile matchups such as the NBA vs NBL Series.
Marathon season was nothing short of epic. Across the country we supported the Melbourne Marathon, Gold Coast Marathon, Brisbane Marathon, Ballarat Marathon, Sunshine Coast Marathon, Toowoomba Marathon, and more—often juggling road closures, detours, emergency access, and pedestrian access simultaneously.
Cycling events were another standout. From Around the Bay in a Day and the Tour De Brisbane to the breathtaking courses of the Great Ocean Road Otway Classic and the community-driven Brissie to Bay, we ensured riders could focus on the road ahead while we managed the roads around them.
Triathlons and endurance events like Ironman Melbourne, Ironman Geelong, Noosa Triathlon, and Wellcamp Airport Duathlon demanded complex coastal and regional traffic plans—delivered with precision by our experienced teams.
And of course, we proudly supported fundraisers that make a real difference, including the Mother’s Day Classic Run/Walk, MS Brissie to Bay, Run for the Kids, Olivia’s Walk for Wellness, and many more.
COMMUNITY
Not every event needs a stadium and we love being part of the moments that bring communities together.
From the Adelaide Christmas Pageant and the Lord Mayor’s Lighting of the Christmas Tree to local celebrations like Light Up Kalbar, Boonah Show, and Caboolture Christmas Carols, we helped communities come together safely.
Festive favourites like Wildlands NYE Festival, Southbank Halloween, and Cooly Rocks brought vibrancy to city precincts, while family-focused events such as Caboolture Family Fun Day and Acland St Father’s Day showcased the importance of thoughtful, community-first traffic planning.
For Altus Traffic, these events are about more than road closures, they’re about enabling connection in a safe environment.
EDUCATION
Education events may look calm on the surface but behind the scenes they require careful coordination.
University open days and graduation ceremonies at institutions including La Trobe University, Monash University, RMIT, the University of Melbourne and UTAS brought thousands of prospective students and families onto campuses nationwide. Our tailored traffic solutions ensured smooth arrivals, safe pedestrian movements, and minimal disruption to surrounding communities, so graduates, families, and faculty could focus on celebrating years of dedication and achievement.
FESTIVALS & CULTURE
2025 was packed with cultural highlights of music, food, fashion, pride and celebration.
Major festivals like Brisbane Festival, Laneway Festival, Good Things Festival, Knotfest, and Spilt Milk Ballarat required large-scale bump-in and bump-out planning, crowd flow coordination, and late-night traffic strategies.
Cultural celebrations including Paniyiri Greek Festival, Hellenic Festival Thebarton, Melbourne Tartan Festival, and Midsumma Street Pride Festival brought communities together in vibrant displays of heritage and identity, each supported by safe and effective traffic operations.
Food and lifestyle events such as the Norwood Food & Wine Festival, alongside dynamic experiences like Rising Festival and Riverfire, transformed city precincts into celebration zones and we were proud to help make it all possible.
From warehouse events at Woolstore VIC to milestone celebrations like the Virgin Hangar 25th Birthday Party, no brief was too complex.
FILM
Lights, camera, traffic control.
In 2025, our Melbourne team supported on-location filming for The Mongoose movie set, staring Liam Neeson. Film productions demand flexibility, quick adjustments, and precision timing and our crews delivered, ensuring cast, crew, and the public stayed safe while creativity took centre stage.
LOOKING AHEAD TO 2026
To our dedicated teams on the ground, our planners behind the scenes, and our event partners across the country—thank you. Your collaboration, professionalism, and commitment to safety made 2025 a resounding success.
And we didn’t waste a minute. We’ve already kicked off 2026 with multiple successful events delivered nationwide, setting the tone for another big year ahead. Behind the scenes, our Altus Events Teams are working closely with organisers across Australia to prepare for an exciting calendar of upcoming events—large and small, metro and regional.
If 2025 proved anything, it’s that when it comes to event traffic management in Australia, Altus Traffic sets the benchmark.
And 2026? We’re already delivering.
