Road Worker Day of Remembrance 2025
Every day, thousands of road workers enter high-risk environments to help build, repair and maintain the infrastructure that keeps our communities moving. Behind the hi-vis vests, cones, and road signs are real people — parents, siblings, friends, and neighbours — each with a story, a purpose and someone waiting for them to come home.
Yet, too often, their lives are endangered or tragically lost due to distracted or reckless driving. What may seem like a delay or detour is, in fact, a frontline of safety — with their lives on the line.
Every road worker deserves to finish their shift and return safely to their loved ones. One life lost is one too many — and together, we can make a difference.
Altus Group proudly stands with SARAH Group and the wider community to mark this solemn day. With more than 5,000 team members, we will take time to reflect, remember and recommit to protecting those who protect us.
On Sunday, November 9, we pause to remember those who never made it home and those who continue to work on our roads.
How you can help:
Slow down near work zones.
Stay alert and avoid distractions.
Recognise the humanity behind the hi-vis.
We invite you to share the following social media assets in the week leading up to November 9 and on the day itself, using the hashtag #RWDOR.
This helps raise awareness and honours those we’ve lost, those injured, and those still keeping our roads safe.
Thank you for your support.
