THAT'S A WRAP ON ALTUS TRAFFIC'S 2024 EVENTS

As we wrap up another eventful year, Altus Traffic is proud to reflect on the diverse and iconic events we had the privilege of managing traffic for. Working alongside event organisers, our specialised events traffic division played a major role in ensuring that participants, the community, and the general public all went home safely. Let’s have a look back at some of the amazing events we're proud to have been a part of.

VIC: MANAGING ICONIC EVENTS
In Victoria, the Australian Open Tennis is one of the most iconic events we manage traffic for. Our team meticulously plans and implements traffic solutions to manage the influx of spectators, ensuring smooth access to Melbourne Park and surrounding areas. Similarly, for the Australian F1 Grand Prix, we coordinate extensive road closures and diversions, facilitating the safe and efficient movement of both vehicles and pedestrians around the Albert Park Circuit. The Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race requires our team to manage traffic along the scenic coastal route, ensuring the safety of cyclists and spectators while maintaining access for local residents. We also provide traffic management services for many music events throughout the year, such as The Woolstore music event in West Footscray. This event drew a massive crowd, filling the enormous venue to capacity. Our Altus Traffic Events Team was on hand to support the organisers, managing the flow of pedestrians and ensuring their safety as they navigated the surrounding roads to and from the event.

QLD: HANDLING COMPLEX TRAFFIC SCENARIOS
In Queensland, the Tour de Brisbane is a major event where our team excels in managing complex traffic scenarios. We implement road closures and diversions, ensuring the safety of participants and minimising disruption to the city's traffic flow. The Pacific Airshow Gold Coast is another significant event where we manage large crowds in the hundreds of thousands, and vehicle movements, ensuring smooth access to the event site and surrounding areas. For the Gold Coast Marathon, our team coordinates extensive road closures and traffic diversions, ensuring the safety of runners and spectators while maintaining access for emergency vehicles and local traffic. Our Traffic Events team also supported many music festivals and community events, including The Promiseland Festival on the Gold Coast, Redcliffe KiteFest in the City of Moreton Bay, and Brisbane Riverfire 2024, marking the opening of the Brisbane Festival. At the Brisbane Festival, our Team collaborated with local authorities to manage road and bridge closures, ensuring the safety of an estimated half-million spectators. Additionally, our team set up road closures for the Jean Paul Gaultier Fashion Show at South Bank Piazza and ensuring safe pathways for Lightscape at the City Botanic Gardens.

NSW: VIBRANT FESTIVALS AND CONVOYS
In New South Wales, the Parramatta Lanes Street Festival is a vibrant event where our team manages traffic to accommodate large crowds and ensure smooth operations. We implement road closures and diversions to facilitate the festival's activities while maintaining access for local residents and businesses. The i98 Illawarra Convoy is another significant event where we manage traffic to ensure the safety of participants and spectators, coordinating road closures and diversions to maintain smooth traffic flow. In addition to traffic management, we also joined forces with our sister company, Traffic Logistics, bringing 20 vibrant TMA trucks to the event, concluding with a family fun day at Shellharbour Airport. On New Year's Eve, our NSW Altus Traffic Events team was at the forefront of managing an exceptionally busy traffic schedule across multiple high-profile locations. In Sydney's CBD, we managed extensive road closures, with significant shutdowns, to accommodate the influx of over a million spectators for the iconic Harbour Bridge fireworks. Concurrently, our team also managed traffic control for the Wollongong fireworks, which drew a crowd of 20,000, and managed road closures in Parramatta Park, transforming it into a pedestrian-only zone for a record-breaking attendance of over 50,000 at the Parramatta New Year's Eve celebration.

SA: HIGH-SPEED RACES AND FESTIVAL PARADES
In South Australia, the Adelaide Vailo 500 is a highlight event where our team manages traffic for the high-speed car race. We implement road closures, diversions, and safety measures to ensure the smooth operation of the event and the safety of participants and spectators. The Adelaide Christmas Pageant is another major event where we manage large crowds of over 300,000 as well as vehicle movements, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees during this festive period.

WA: HIGH-SPEED THRILLS AND CULTURAL CELEBRATIONS
In Western Australia, the V8 Supercars Perth is a highlight event where our team manages traffic for the high-speed car race. We implement road closures, diversions, and safety measures to ensure the smooth operation of the event and the safety of participants and spectators. The WA Day Festival also sees our team managing large crowds and vehicle movements, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees.

 ACT: MARATHON MANAGEMENT
In the Australian Capital Territory, the Canberra Times Marathon is a significant event where we manage traffic to ensure the safety of runners and spectators, coordinating road closures and diversions to maintain smooth traffic flow.
