Altus Named Finalist for 2025 ACRS Excellence in Road Safety Award

Altus Traffic has been named a Finalist in the 2025 ACRS Excellence in Road Safety Award, recognising the company’s innovative approach to protecting frontline road workers through its Workzone Digitisation initiative.

This award, presented by the Australasian College of Road Safety (ACRS) and sponsored by Acusensus recognises projects that demonstrate innovation, impact, and leadership in improving road safety.

Open to multidisciplinary teams from any sector, the award shines a spotlight on solutions that are scalable, cost-effective, and capable of addressing complex road safety challenges, whilst  considering broader systemic, societal, environmental, and governance factors.

The winner will be announced at the 2025 Australasian Road Safety Conference Gala Dinner, held in Perth, WA, on Tuesday, 21 October 2025.

As part of the lead-up to the announcement, Beth Lilford, Head of Digital at Altus Traffic, was invited to present at the 2025 ACRS Excellence in Road Safety Award Taster Webinar, which showcased a selection of projects submitted for this year’s award.

“It’s a privilege to be here today to talk about something that sits right at the heart of our industry - keeping road workers safe,” said Beth.

During her presentation, Beth shed light on the stark reality faced by Australia’s road workers. Between 2015 and 2022, 63 road workers lost their lives, and more than 1,200 were seriously injured on Australian roads - figures that are likely underreported.

“These aren’t statistics, they’re people. Our colleagues. Our mates. Every one of those incidents is one too many.”

Altus Traffic’s Workzone Digitisation addresses this crisis head-on, introducing a suite of smart safety technologies designed to protect workers from the risks of live traffic environments.

“With Workzone Digitisation, we’re not just protecting worksites,” Beth concluded. “We’re protecting people. And to me, that’s one of the most important innovations of all.”

We wish all Finalists the best of luck at the upcoming Australasian Road Safety Conference Gala Dinner where the winner will be announced.
