NRSW 2026: A Week of Awareness, Action and Community
As National Road Safety Week 2026 has come to an end, the message remains as important as ever — road safety is everyone’s responsibility, every day.
At Altus Group, we are proud to stand alongside organisations, communities and individuals across Australia who continue to advocate for safer roads and smarter choices behind the wheel. While the official week may be over, the conversations and actions it inspires should continue long after the campaign ends.
Every decision on our roads matters. Slow down. Stay alert. Avoid distractions. Look out for one another. Together we can help ensure everyone gets home safely, always.
Proud Principal Partner of National Road Safety Week
Altus Group is proud to be a Principal Partner of National Road Safety Week, working alongside Peter Frazer OAM and the SARAH (Safer Australian Roads and Highways) Group to raise awareness around road safety and reduce the devastating impact of road trauma across Australia.
This year’s campaign once again brought together businesses, schools, sporting organisations, government departments and local communities to reinforce a simple but powerful message — every life matters on our roads.
We were proud to attend the official Queensland launch event at Queensland Parliament, hosted by the Department of Transport and Main Roads Queensland. The event was concluded by guest speaker Peter Frazer OAM, founder of the SARAH Group, whose ongoing advocacy continues to drive meaningful change and awareness nationally.
A huge thank you to all organisations, schools, teams and individuals who supported National Road Safety Week 2026. From sharing free campaign resources and promoting daily themes, to starting important conversations within workplaces, schools and homes, every contribution helped amplify the importance of safer roads and reducing fatalities across the country.
Encouraging Conversations at Home
One of the highlights again this year was the return of the Altus Traffic Colouring Competition — always a favourite among kids and families.
The competition was designed to encourage children to start conversations at home about road safety and their role in staying safe, whether crossing roads, walking to school, riding bikes or travelling with family.
Creating awareness from a young age helps build lifelong habits and encourages safer communities for future generations.
Bringing Road Safety Leadership to the Business Community
At the National Road Safety Week Business Breakfast hosted by the Norths Devils, Altus Group Executives joined industry leaders and community advocates to elevate the conversation around safer roads.
Special guest Peter Frazer OAM shared a powerful and deeply personal story, reminding everyone why these discussions matter and encouraging attendees to take the message back into their workplaces, teams and communities.
Norths Devils Game Brings the Message to the Field
Altus Traffic was also proud to once again sponsor the National Road Safety Week Norths Devils football game which is an important community event that combined sport, awareness and advocacy.
The Norths Devils took to the field in their striking yellow National Road Safety Week jerseys, helping bring visibility to the campaign and its life-saving message.
It was especially meaningful to see one of our own, Jacob Gagan — Altus Traffic Key Account Manager and Norths Devils player #1314 — representing both Altus and the Devils on the field.
Our staff were proud to attend the game alongside Peter Frazer OAM and members of the wider community, with many taking the opportunity to engage with fans and discuss the importance of road safety both on and off the road.
A special thank you also to Jacob Gagan and Brendan Cannon, Altus Group EGM Southern Operations and Wallaby #769, for helping create and support this year’s campaign video in partnership with the Norths Devils RLFC.
Our Teams Unite Nationwide
Altus Traffic teams across Australia united for National Road Safety Week, with staff leading the way through a series of meaningful, safety‑focused activities. Depots hosted morning teas and toolbox talks, crews applied yellow ribbons to vehicles, and employees wore yellow ribbons across worksites to spark conversations about safer choices on the road. These small but visible actions helped reinforce our shared commitment to protecting road users and supporting one another.
Teams on the road were also treated to sweet snacks and took part in the Drive So OthersSurvive pledge, making a personal promise to prioritise safety behind the wheel.
Our social media activity in the lead up and throughout the week generated strong engagement, amplifying our message for road safety nationally and shining a spotlight on the essential work our Traffic Controllers and operational crews do every day.
A huge thank you goes to our Traffic Controllers and crews who sent in their videos throughout the week. By putting a face to the people working on our roads every day—someone’s mother, father, husband, wife, brother, or sister—they reminded Australia that every worker deserves to get home safely too, and their contributions brought authenticity and heart to our campaign.
The Conversation Must Continue
While National Road Safety Week 2026 has come to an end, the responsibility we all share continues every time we get behind the wheel.
At Altus Group, we remain committed to supporting initiatives that create safer roads, stronger communities and lasting behavioural change.
Thank you again to everyone who participated, shared the message, attended events and helped make this year’s campaign another meaningful success.
