Altus Group Secures Entry Into New Zealand With Acquisition Of Traffic Management NZ Ltd

Altus Group Holdings (Altus) has expanded its operational footprint into New Zealand through the acquisition of 100% of Traffic Management NZ Ltd (TMNZ), the leading traffic management entity in the region.

This acquisition is a continuation of Altus Group’s strategic expansion, following the recent integrations of Traffic Diversions Group, Traffic Logistics, and Shield Traffic in Australia earlier this year, with the latter being acquired in September, merely four weeks prior to the TMNZ acquisition.

TMNZ will now operate under the robust financial framework of Altus, backed by Pacific Equity Partners (PEP), with the ongoing leadership of Group CEO Ben Marsonet and Chair David Lundberg.

Founded by Brenda and Dean Kebbell in 2001, TMNZ has established itself as the foremost traffic management entity in New Zealand, boasting 19 operational locations across the North and South Islands.

Ben Marsonet, Group CEO of Altus, noted that this acquisition "provides a pivotal platform for Altus in the New Zealand market, enhancing the Group’s capacity and establishing a solid foundation for the deployment of advanced safety and operational systems in the region." The integration elevates Altus Group’s workforce to over 4,500 staff, with a fleet of more than 2,500 specialised vehicles across 45+ branches in Australia and New Zealand.

"The inclusion of TMNZ into the Altus Group not only signifies our geographical expansion but brings forth a synergy of expertise and a shared commitment towards elevating road safety standards and service efficiency," Marsonet added.

Dean Kebbell, former Director of TMNZ, acknowledged Altus as an “ideal successor for TMNZ, with its reputable market standing and an outstanding management team.”

"We are optimistic about the prospects that the alliance with Altus presents and are keen to collaborate with Ben and his team to augment the growth trajectory of TMNZ while maintaining our core values and operational standards," said Kebbell.

This acquisition precedes the Altus Group’s forthcoming launch of an innovative digital safety technology, poised to significantly enhance the safety landscape for road workers across Australasia.
