Road Worker Day of Remembrance 2024

On November 9, Altus Group will again express its support for the National Road Worker Day of Remembrance. This solemn day pays tribute to all the men and women in our industry who have tragically lost their lives or suffered serious injuries while working to keep our roads safe.

Road workers are the unsung heroes who play a pivotal role in maintaining the infrastructure that our communities depend on daily. Just like anyone heading to work, they deserve to return home safely to their loved ones, every day, without exception. Sadly, in recent years, we've witnessed far too many heart-wrenching incidents, where news of another injury or loss has left us all deeply affected.

On this Road Worker Day of Remembrance, each of our 5,000+ staff members will take a moment to reflect and honour the lives of those we lost or were injured, trying to ensure the safety of our roads. These are individuals who may have been part of our Altus Group family or other dedicated workers in the industry.

Regardless of personal connections, we share a profound empathy, fully comprehending the inherent risks they face while working near live traffic.

We extend our gratitude to SARAH Group for their dedication in driving this important day forward. We encourage like-minded organisations and individuals to join us in raising awareness on this significant occasion. Please consider sharing the social media assets that can be found here: https://roadsafetyweek.com.au/rwdor along with the tag #RWDOR

Let us unite as a community to remember and reflect. Together, we can work towards a safer future for all road workers.
