Altus Training Announces Rebrand to CivilEdge

Altus tackles skills shortage head-on with rebranded CivilEdge

Altus Training is rebranding its training business to reflect Altus’ growth ambitions and expansion into the broader civil construction industry.

CivilEdge, formerly known as Altus Training Pty Ltd, is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) (code 41594) and wholly owned subsidiary of Altus Traffic. It was established in 2016 as part of Altus Traffic's commitment to safety and to address the critical need to provide quality training for both established traffic industry workers and new entrants to the industry.

The re-brand will transition the businesses from solely focussing on traffic management training to a leader in civil construction training throughout Australia, whilst continuing to support Altus Traffic with its training requirements.

Altus Traffic CEO Ben Marsonet said the CivilEdge would help tackle the national skills crisis in major projects across Australia, helping meet demand and encouraging the next generation of professionals to join the industry.

“The major projects industry is seeing record levels of investment and a massive pipeline of work in roads and the broader construction industry, but the shortage of skilled operators threatens to add to the cost and timeframes of projects that will help keep Australia’s economy moving,” Mr Marsonet said.

General Manager of CivilEdge, Gerard Healy, said it is a fantastic time to join the industry, and to gain skills that would provide entry not just into road traffic management but a wide range of construction-related jobs.

“We have never seen this level of activity before, and the demand for trained workers is just going through the roof. We are finding a lot of people shifting across from other professions, and with road projects happening in both metro and regional areas, people are telling us they are attracted by the ability to work close to where they live, and to be part of some really exciting infrastructure projects that make a difference to communities.

“And with the pathways that now exist through our recognised training programs, the career possibilities are almost limitless,” he said.

Mr Marsonet said CivilEdge aims to be the number 1 provider of civil construction training in Australia, offering businesses and consumers a range of courses covering Traffic Control & Management, Operating a TMA, Civil Construction, and Resources and Infrastructure Work Preparation.

“Our tailored solutions are designed to help teams stay on top of the skills and qualifications they need to work. We expect to see the business grow rapidly over the next 12-24 months as we introduce new nationally accredited short courses and full qualifications for both the traffic and broader civil construction industries.

“And as CivilEdge enters its new phase of growth, the company will prioritise expanding both the scope of courses available to clients and students, as well as geographic regions where training is available.”
